Who or what are the Büssli dogs? 🐶

Hi there 🙋 I'm Kamala and among other things I'm responsible for our new special interest category "Büssli dogs" in the Büssli-Shop. 🐶

The subject of dogs has become very important to me in the last 1 1/2 years. I myself always grew up with cats at home and last fall my life changed completely. Little Tillie from the animal welfare organization moved in with me. She comes from a northern region in Romania and lived on the streets there for four years before coming to Germany last summer. Since adopting her, my life has changed completely. She hardly knew anything: no stairs, no leash, no cars and certainly no city noise. And people, phew, don't even get me started. So there I was, with this sweet, frightened dog from Romania with behavioral problems. Giving up was not an option.

We have overcome many challenges over the past year and have grown together as a team. I would do everything exactly the same again, even if it took a lot of nerves, even more patience and even more perseverance. Thanks to Tillie, I really understand dogs for the first time in my life. They are individual, unique beings with their own story and various character traits, often regardless of breed.

Over the past year, the subject of dogas you can read, has really grown on me and six months ago I decided to start training as a dog trainer. This was important for me personally, for the relationship between my dog and myself and also for my work at the Büssli-Shop a super important and wonderful decision. Working and learning with the dogs just feels right and valuable to me.

Going on vacation with your own dog or dogs, traveling the world or experiencing a new adventure is a matter of the heart for many people, and it certainly is for me.

We as a camping community are always well equipped: a great vehicle, super camping equipment, weatherproof outdoor clothing and so on. BUT what about our faithful furry friends?

It's important to me that we as dog people can spend time with our dogs as carefree as possible, and for me this doesn't really involve much apart from health, happiness, a great adventure and good quality outdoor equipment for the four-legged friend. For me, this includes, for example, a well-fitting well-fitting harnessa cushion protector for the beloved camper, a weatherproof coat and a non-sinking toy for the water lovers among the dogs.

We have chosen a really great manufacturer originally from the USA for our dog range: Ruffwear.

Of course, everyone has their own preferences for their dog and a large St. Bernard with a thick coat certainly doesn't need a warm raincoat but a smaller Beagle with a short coat may need one in order to be well equipped and ready to go anywhere in the cold and wet season.

What everyone can really use is the Pack Out Bag - it's a good solution for the finished business that you can't dispose of on the spot. Our dogs are not just pets but family members and loyal comforters. It's a good feeling when I realize that the communication between me and my dog works better as soon as we consciously spend time together.
